We are easily accessible from Interstate-65 and are a carrier for a large automotive facility based out of Lafayette, IN. The warehouse is approximately 60,000 square feet with 6 docks and 2 overheads’ for unloading and reloading of straight trucks up to 53-foot trailers and super-vans.
Our Lafayette based facility objective is to pick up the automotive freight from the suppliers, deliver it to the plant on schedule, bring the empty returns to our facility that is preloaded at the plant and unload the trailers. The returns are then separated by our sorting department and placed in a location designated per supplier. The loaders reload the returns on pre-set routes using a ‘load sheet’ describing what each supplier receives and on which route it is to be loaded on. Once this is done, the load sheet is turned in and the supervisor creates the bill of ladings and places paperwork in driver’s box. The driver then picks up their paperwork, outbound trailer and delivers to their destination per their pre-set appointment time. This is a continual cycle that is repeated five days per week, 24 hours per day; we will also work Saturday’s when the automotive plant is in production.
